Itsy Bitsy Spider

Well just in a mood this weekend and did some spider activities as well.  I was thinking that some people might do a theme on Nocturnal animals and some on spiders in the month of October so I did both sets.  Hope you find them helpful and your kids enjoy working with them.

Thanks you for stopping by my blog.

Nocturnal Animals

Well the rain came again this afternoon and I jumped on another set of activities and games.  These are activities that you can use during the month of October if you teach a unit on Nocturnal Animals.

I hope you find them useful.  The kids in my class are really getting a lot out of the independent practice with these different activities.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Kindergarten Common Core

I have been sitting here catching up on my favorite bloggers and all the wonderful ideas that they have to share and believe me there are many great ideas out there.  Well as I was reading I came across one post that caught my eye about the kindergarten common core. Many of use have either been diving into the common core or are just beginning to work with the common core and we all need resources and ideas.  I came across a blog on this book and checked it out.  I like what I am seeing.  The sample pages that I have been looking at not only give you the common core standard but activities and small posters that can be used in the classroom as well.  My struggle right now is do I want the kindergarten or first grade version (since I teach both grades). Oh my I just don't know.  Well anyway here is a picture of the workbook and the link to the sight where it can be purchased.  Hope you find it as helpful as I did.

Labor Day is Over, Back to School

Well Labor Day Weekend is almost over and I am still working on the resting thing.  The kids have been in school for 3 and ½ weeks and when I left Friday I felt like we were on our way to learning the rules and routines of the classroom. We still have more to do but I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am feeling good about where we are headed.  If rain here some today so I thought I would enjoy my inside time and get a few work areas up and ready for the following week.  I hope you find them useful.

Thanks,

Leslie
